Lexi is a junior studying Environmental and Ecological Engineering.

This is currently my second semester in this program. I am a junior studying Environmental and Ecological Engineering at Purdue University and enjoy helping kids develop social and educational skills. This is why I participate in this organization and have enjoyed these last two semesters. My favorite part of this club is seeing these kids grow and become more confident. I love seeing their faces when they achieve a goal they are working towards.
In addition, I love watching these kids work on hobbies/activities that make them happy. Each child is unique and has their own talents.
My mentee, with whom I spent the whole first semester, loved to draw animals and objects. We would draw the same animals chosen by her and would compare drawings. Her drawings would always look way better than mine! I am not an artist, but she can possibly become a great one someday.
I have learned so much from this organization and hope that it continues after I graduate. It truly has made an impact on my life in the most positive way. All the kids are amazing and are so talented. I hope that they learn from this experience as well and remember it for the rest of their lives.
